Meet the director of, "The Desk," Hitesh Bansal (not pictured)

How would you describe your film and the inspiration behind it?
My film is a story of two kids fighting over a crush. The film is filled with emotions and expresses the joy of a middle school crush. Although i did not write the script, i had some experiences similar to this in middle school and those experiences helped me invest more in to the script.
What has been your favorite part of working on this project?
My favorite part of this project is the emotion of the film. I had the freedom to choose which direction we want to head with the film and i chose to many it very goofy, animated, and over expressive.
What was it like working collaboratively with the rest of the team?
The team was great from start to finish. We kept an upbeat atmosphere through out the film. I tend to get focused and zoned in when directing films, but i let loose and cracked plenty of jokes this time around. The final product will will be a great representation of what the atmosphere on the set was.
What films have been the most inspiring or influential to you and why?
If i had to pick one movie, it would be Lion. Being born in India, i can relate to going back home after years to meeting someone all over again. That experience puts passion in my heart to continue to adventure. No matter where i am in this world, i will always have a connection with someone. I love to take these moments and bring then in to art.
Based on your experience making this film, what is one piece of advice you have for first time filmmakers?
One piece of advice i would give to first time filmmakers is to trust the process. Make sure you believe in the script and the vision will come to life.
